Meet the Coven!

All members in our Coven add their own personality and energy to our Coven and each person is valued independently in order to make up a dynamic and magickal Coven Family. We are made up of a diverse array of talents including poets and storytellers, musicians and drummers, kitchen witches and healers and more.
As a group we are dedicated to educating the public in Pagan awareness, however, that is not to say that all members are open about their religion to others.
We occasionally offer study groups and take part in local St. Louis events and festivals. We thank you for taking the time to get to know our coven family...

Oscianna

~High Priestess~

Hi! I'm Oscianna but everyone calls me Osci (pronounced Oh-She) for short. I am a daughter of the Waters, the Bear, the dolphin, a protector and nurturer. I love to swim in the Oceans, play in the waves, submerge myself fully in the waters of our Mother. I play, I dance in the rain, I roll in mud, I drum, I smile and I connect to Mother Earth.....My mundane name is Jenn.

My spirituality is different then most people. I was raised agnostic but with many questions about spirituality. I craved something deeper and I often times attended churches with friends growing up. I was intrigued. It was through this search that I eventually found Paganism and I am a better person for it. I am a connector. A mystic. I am a simply a priestess who is guided by experience, connection and intuition rather than dogma. I am just me. In other words, I do not like to define my path as a specific religion but rather an expression of how I see and feel the presence of the Divine in everything around me and within me. I'm tired of religion. I want spiritual food and I want to experience it in whatever form I find. That is what spirituality is all about- a connection. It is a mystical experience and to try to define it or put words on it is almost to limit it. To me, that is the freedom in Paganism for I am only limited by what I choose to limit myself by. I truly believe that we are spiritual beings having a human experience. People. Places. Nature. Occurrences. The elements. They may appear random but they are only random if you do not choose to find meaning through them. I choose meaning and growth and that change and evolution is all about becoming everything I am supposed to grow and be :) That type of learning cannot be found in any book. It is about digging deep and opening the heart and not being afraid of what you find.

I am a proud member of the St. Louis Pagan Picnic committee and currently serving as chairman of the Bardic Circle where we showcase local and regional musicians and performers at the Pagan Picnic. Additionally I am a chairperson of the St. Louis Witches Ball committee who holds our annual masquerade ball each October as a fundraising event for the Pagan Picnic.

I am a singer-songwriter and music is a major part of my life. I love to play guitar and sing music daily. I have been playing solo acoustic shows and gigs around St. Louis for a few years now and have played at Venues such as Cruisin Rt. 66, 10 mile house, the Blue Agave, The Library in Soulard, Pagan Picnic and am happy to play at any festival or venue that welcomes acoustic folk music. You can find more information about me and listen to some of my music at www.myspace.com/osciannamusic. Currently I am working on a demo cd with a studio and hopefully will have that completed when I can find the time =).

By day I am a molecular biologist studying plants in the biotechnology industry. I love science and although to many they find spirituality and science an opposing force, I find the opposite. We are taught in science principles and theories and to test them using the scientific process. We are to be explorers and not just believe what we see but to test it, prove it and repeat it. I adore the scientific process and thank goodness it is used for the sake of us all. But it is NOT limiting. Rather, it is expanding! I study plant molecular biology. It is humbling to learn about life and it is truly extraordinary and humbling. It is complex. When I look up at the night sky, I am thankful for all the scientific studies that go on to learn about the planets and that we know the earth moves around the sun. That we are part of a solar system which is part of a galaxy all within this massive universe. But science has even been studying the very nature of the universe and finding, that it is expanding. The question begs to be asked...expanding into WHAT? The more we try to answer questions, the more questions we encounter. That is the beauty of it. That is why I am humbled by it and believe that science is ultimately explained by spirituality and spirituality is ultimately explained by science. The work together. They do not oppose one another. So long as the curiosity remains within you to ask questions and be an explorer, you will forever continue to grow and learn and find connections.

I am a Priestess, Reiki master, a poet, a musician, a writer, a scientist, gardner, herbalist, sister, friend, daughter and mother. I love composing and singing music, writing my own poetry, dancing at Music festivals, hiking, backpacking, camping, photography, art, drumming and so much more. I enjoy life and am in that time of my life of embracing and hopefully sharing myself with others. It is all the dance of life. Its all good. Its called living.

Say not, "I have found the path of the soul" Say rather, "I have met the soul walking upon my path."
Say not, "I have found the truth," but rather, "I have found a truth."
~Kahlil Gibran~

El Bee

~High Priest~

I am El Bee, Priest of Yarrow Coven at your service. I am also known as Norm, The Bottomless Pit, Old Man, Blackleg, and a few things I can't repeat, hehehe. I am older than dirt and I invented Magick. That’s the rumor anyway.

I am also a child of the Goddess, an herbalist, a spell spinner and poet. I am a life long Pagan and a Wiccan for twelve years. It is one of the things I live for. My only hope as I go about my faith is that some of what I believe will outlive this present body....

I traveled extensively throughout Asia in my youth and found a spirituality to my liking. The time I spent in India and Nepal was a critical time for me. It allowed me to see my world from a different perspective. Later I was able to meld Eastern and Western thought into a spirituality that reflects the person I am today.

I am a Witch. It is the word that best describes my world view. To be a Witch is to be in tune with my surroundings and aware of your possibilities. To be a Witch is to be able to change my reality through Magick. To be a Witch is to be part of a universal energy pool and able to direct that energy according to my will.

The Rites of Passage I perform hold special meaning for me. Each Marriage, Handfasting, Wiccaning and Coming of Age Ritual I perform gives me the satisfaction of knowing my tradition is being passed on to a new generation.

I live with my wife, Ariel, who feeds me very well, hehehe. My dogs Ellie and and Buddy, the dog from Hell, who always keeps me on my toes. Together, we live in this old South St. Louis home that is always needing more work than I can give it. I love it anyway.

Please feel free to email me with any questions. I will respond to all sincere inquiries!

Anwyn

My name is Charlynn and I am a member of Yarrow Coven. I have been pagan all my life. Though, I have been a seriously practicing Paganism/Wicca for almost 10 years at this point. In 2003, I moved to the St. Louis metro area with John. At that time I decided something was missing in my life and decided I needed to become more involved in the community. (Be careful what you ask for! )

I became involved with the St. Louis Pagan Picnic Committee as Programming Coordinator for 3 years and as a Co-Chair for the past 3 years. I am also a part of the St. Louis Witches Ball committee which is currently in its fifth year.

In the past I have written articles for a local newsletter and an online community as well as contributing to the St. Louis Pagan Picnic program guide. Writing is an important aspect of my life and I love to include that as a part of my spiritual life.

I hold regular study groups in my home. More recently I finished my first degree work with the Correllian Tradition through Witchschool and have almost completed the second degree coursework. I also work closely with several other groups in the metro area including Coven of the Greenwood. I take seriously my commitment to the pagan community and will always put everyone else before myself.

As many will tell you I have never seen myself as a teacher. But, that is a role I now find myself in. I have been blessed with finding my pagan family; they are my strength and foundation. Though I have only known some of them for a short time I see a strong, undeniable connection and trust them implicitly. I finally have come to understand the meaning of 'perfect love and perfect trust'. With Yarrow I have found a place to relax to learn and to share my knowledge.

Bright Blessings,
Charlynn/Anwyn
